The SCORPENA JetFins-2 are an advanced evolution of the classic Jet Fins, originally invented in France in 1965. Despite having longer blades and a larger effective surface area for kicking, the JetFins-2 maintain a similar weight to the originals, thanks to modern materials that match rubber in elasticity and durability but with a lower specific weight.
This model features not only flow laminators, which balance pressure on both sides of the blade and reduce water turbulence (vortex formation) for energy-saving performance, but also a “tunnel effect” integrated into each of the blade’s three segments. This significantly enhances overall kick efficiency and increases the fin’s propulsion coefficient.
Unlike the classic design, the JetFins-2 strap is not only easily adjustable but also equipped with a quick-release buckle. While this requires more careful handling, it greatly improves comfort when donning, adjusting, and removing the fins. If needed, the buckle and strap can be easily replaced with alternative options, including spring straps.
Thanks to these improvements, many divers refer to the JetFins-2 as the “civilian version” of the legendary Jet Fins, making them comfortable not only for military and professional divers but also for recreational divers operating in challenging conditions.
The JetFins-2 foot pocket is larger than that of standard diving fins, allowing for comfortable use with both traditional neoprene booties and drysuit boots.
These fins excel when using the classic or modified flutter kick, as well as the frog kick, making them suitable for both recreational diving and some types of technical diving.
